Lately, more and more people have been telling me they feel like time is racing by. A big part of that comes from living overly busy lives and spending a lot of time on social media. It got me thinking: How do we make time stand still?
The times when I feel like time moves the slowest are usually when I’m waiting—like sitting in a doctor’s office. That reminds me of something my father used to say about reducing stress: “Just be.”
He meant finding a place where you can simply exist without doing anything. It might be sitting on a bench by the boardwalk, listening to the ocean, or just pausing in the moment.
The brilliance of this idea is that we all have access to it. Even right now, after you finish watching this video, you can pause for a moment and do nothing. Try it. You might notice how just being can help time feel slower, calmer, and more manageable.
I encourage you to take a short break today—just be—and see if it helps you regain the sense that time isn’t racing by and that you truly have all the time you need.
