“Mostly Dead is Still a Little Alive”

On a group video meeting the other day, one colleague noticed that another had a Christmas tree in the corner of her office that was fully decorated.
It was well past Christmas, and she told us that the tree is up in her office all year, and she seasonally changes out the decorations on it.
And so in Christmas, it’s regular Christmas tree decorations, but in the summer for example, some of the ornaments might include things that look like a beach ball, or small flip flops.
Aside from being just totally charming, an example of this kind of tree, has three good things that happen because of people seeing it.
First is just the sight of a Christmas tree makes people happy and think of Christmas.
Second, seeing it out of season makes people notice it even more.
And third, the idea that it has seasonal decorations on it just brings joy to people who see it.
I do think that it’s a gift when someone can take something ordinary like that and make something fun and joyful out of it.
If you have a friend who has that kind of gift, you have a gift in that person as well.
