How to Make Someone a Legend

In the 1979 comedy movie “A Little Romance”, Sir Laurence Olivier plays a devilish, but charming character named Julius.

Julius has shared a legend with two young characters in the movie who believe him, but later find out that the legend is a lie.

When they confront him about the lie, Julius says,” What are legends anyway, but stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.”

I agree with that definition and you may find in your own life, when you observe and share with people who are close to you, the extraordinary things that they have done that you’ve observed, or the extraordinary qualities you feel they have, it can be very powerful.

They may not have heard that before, or heard it expressed in quite the way that you have shared it. And even if you share those extraordinary things with someone, and they’re the only person you share it with, by my definition, they’re now a legend.

legends, powerful, sharing
